RED phosphorus is a non-volatile, odourless and tasteless powder produced from yellow phosphorus by conversion at extremely high temperatures of around 260 °C in the absence of air.
RED phosphorus is insoluble in water and in most organic solvents.

Common areas of application for red phosphorus include the following industries:
Semiconductors, pyrotechnics, fertilisers, safety matches, insecticides, smoke bombs, incendiary casings in organic synthesis reactions, and certain flame retardants.

Yellow phosphorus (P₄) is a highly reactive elemental raw material and serves as a starting material for numerous chemical and industrial processes. It is suitable for further processing into phosphorus compounds and functional specialty chemicals.
Yellow phosphorus must be transported and stored under controlled conditions, usually under water in special tank containers or, alternatively, in drums. Only in this way can the safe transport and subsequent handling of yellow phosphorus be ensured.
Its defined quality enables reproducible processes and reliable integration into existing production lines.
